What You’ll Learn
During this comprehensive course, you’ll learn essential skills to safely skipper a motor cruiser by day in familiar waters, with an introduction to night cruising. Key topics covered include:
Safety and the Skipper’s Responsibilities: Understanding your role and duties as a skipper.
Preparation & Passage Planning: Efficiently planning and preparing for short passages.
Boat Handling: Mastering boat handling in confined areas and at sea.
Navigation & Electronics: Enhancing your navigation skills and using modern electronic aids such as GPS and radar.
Buoyage: Learning about different types of buoys and their meanings.
MOB Procedures: Practising man overboard procedures.
IRPCS and Navigation Lights: Understanding the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.
Pilotage: Gaining practical pilotage experience.
