Safety and the Skipper’s Responsibilities: Understanding your role and duties as a skipper.

Boat Handling: Mastering boat handling in confined areas and at sea.
Navigation & Electronics: Enhancing your navigation skills and using modern electronic aids such as GPS and radar.

Powerboat Training in Hull

It is important that you have theory knowledge to the level of RYA Day Skipper. Ideally the RYA Helmsman course or other practical experience.

It is recommended you attend the RYA Day Skipper shorebased course beforehand.

Maximum ratio of students to instructor is 5:1.
Minimum Age: 16

On your successful completion of the course you will receive RYA Day Skipper practical certification.

Successful completion of the Day Skipper practical course will automatically qualify you to apply for an International Certificate of Competency (ICC) 10-24 metres. The ICC is free if you are a member of the RYA. Download the ICC form here.
